Colours: Wood is a natural material which may cause colour differences between individual trays.
Coating: The trays are coated with hard wax.

Hard wax prevents dirt from penetrating the surface of the wood. It is mainly used for kitchen countertops. The durability of wax is much higher than that of vegetable oil. The wax is certified for food contact.
Hard wax prevents the fibers from raising upon first contact with water on cutting boards or decorative trays made of oak, ash, or American walnut (with long fibers).
